Precision Motion Control
The Future of Pneumatic ActuationIntroduction
PRECISION CYLINDERS.
In high‑performance automation, precision isn’t optional — it’s the foundation. VidoAir™ Pneumatics delivers actuator cylinders designed for repeatability, reliability, and compact integration across robotics, assembly, and motion‑control systems.
Our latest generation of precision motion control cylinders combines dual‑acting reliability with hard‑chrome piston rods and double‑seal technology, ensuring zero leakage and long‑term durability even in demanding environments.
Industrial automation depends on one critical factor: repeatable motion.
Whether you’re building packaging equipment, robotic automation, assembly machinery, or material handling systems, your pneumatic cylinders directly affect machine accuracy, uptime, maintenance costs, and overall productivity.
Modern precision cylinders are engineered far beyond simply extending and retracting. Today’s designs minimize leakage, reduce friction, improve repeatability, and deliver millions of maintenance-free cycles.
Engineered for Accuracy
Unlike standard air cylinders, precision pneumatic cylinders are manufactured with tighter machining tolerances, premium sealing systems, and wear-resistant materials.
These improvements provide:
✔ Higher repeatability
✔ Longer service life
✔ Lower air consumption
✔ Improved positioning accuracy
✔ Reduced maintenance
✔ Consistent performance over millions of cycles
For OEM equipment manufacturers, even small improvements in repeatability can significantly improve overall machine performance.
Every VidoAir™ precision cylinder is built for ±0.01 mm repeatability, enabling consistent, smooth motion in automated production lines. The ultra‑compact, low‑profile design fits seamlessly into tight spaces, while the dual‑acting configuration ensures balanced performance under variable loads.
“The hidden cost of a cheap cylinder isn’t the purchase price—it’s the cumulative downtime, reject rate, and labor that follows.”

Selecting The Right Pneumatic Cylinder
Pneumatic cylinder selection comes down to four variables: bore size (force), stroke length, mounting style, and operating pressure. For precision-class applications, add a fifth: permissible side load on the rod. VidoAir’s product team can walk you through the calculation—but here’s a quick-start framework:
Force required: F (N) = Pressure (bar) × π/4 × Bore² (mm²) × 0.1. Account for friction (≈15% efficiency loss) and any vertical or off-axis loading.
Stroke: Add 5–10mm of safety margin to your nominal stroke to prevent end-of-stroke buffering from absorbing working travel.
Mounting: Clevis, flange, foot, and rod-eye mountings are available. For high-side-load applications, specify a guided rod or rod-lock variant.
When in doubt, the VidoAir team is available to co-engineer the solution.
